In 2009, Eileen Marks, a distinguished and devoted Board Member of the Chamber for twenty years, passed away. Eileen Marks was known for her intelligence, wit, zest for life and her positive attitude. She used these qualities to serve this community and in doing so, exemplified the meaning of community service. Both of Eileen's daughters are graduates of Pikesville High School. In memory of Eileen, the Pikesville Chamber of Commerce's annual $500 Scholarship will now be called The Eileen Marks Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to the senior who best expresses in an essay, what community service will mean as he or she looks into their future. The scholarship is presented at the Chamber's annual Business and Community Recognition Awards Ceremony as well as the Senior Awards Assembly for Pikesville High School.
